Rich Thoroe

Senior Consultant

Rich Thoroe has over 14 years of professional experience in a broad range of employee benefits, compensation, and strategy consulting. His work in executive compensation focuses on designing equity-based long-term incentive programs for public and privately owned companies. He also works with executives and boards to develop variable compensation and performance measurement systems.

Prior to joining The Delves Group, Rich was a senior associate with the Human Capital Advisory Services practice in the Chicago office of Mercer Human Resource Consulting; he managed projects involving the design and implementation of pension administration and sales-force compensation systems for many large corporate clients. Prior to this position at Mercer, Rich was a consultant in the Chicago office of Andersen Consulting where he advised client executives on applying M&A integration best-practices to maximize the speed and efficiency of post-merger consolidation initiatives.

Rich started his career as an actuarial analyst in the retirement consulting group of William M. Mercer in Chicago.  At Mercer, he counseled corporate clients on the design and funding of their defined benefit pension plans.

Education

Rich holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and Insurance from Drake University and an MBA with concentrations in Analytic Finance and Accounting from The University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

Professional/Academic Affiliations, Achievements

Rich is a member of the Union League Club of Chicago.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Chicago Chamber Musicians and served in various leadership roles on the junior board of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
